Indie pop may be my favorite genre. Let's face it. Its nearly impossible not to smile and have a better day when you hear a good indie pop song. Belle & Sebastian create supreme happy indie pop tunes. Maybe its because they are Norwegian, happy and good looking? I am a firm believer that Scandinavians are the happiest people in the world. Take me back to Scandinavia please. (Preferably during the summer months when it stays light out for 24 hours straight. Thanks.)
Back to Belle and Sebastian... B&S have been together since 1997, and have stayed a solid band for nearly 15 years. Impressive. Belle and Sebastian have somewhat of a retro sound, often echoing the sound of the Doors and even the Fleet Foxes. With songs appearing in movies, such as Juno, its no wonder why they've been able to stay on the indie radar. The acoustic harmonies and lyrics of Belle & Sebastian make me want to frolic around like its summer time. This a perfect band to chill out to during a perfect summer day, or frankly any day. Enjoy!
